Jeremy Maxwell, D.C.

I look forward to the opportunity of sharing my passion for living full and healthy lives.

Jeremy grew up in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Amador Valley High School in 1992. He then attended York College in York, NE on a soccer scholarship to attain his undergraduate studies in pre-chiropractic. It was in York where he met my wife Shelby, who is from Rhinelander, WI. Jeremy attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and went on to open his practice in Fayette, MO from April 2001 through June 2018, and now practice in Columbia, MO since 2005. Shelby and Jeremy have four wonderful children: Aiden, Myya, Emilia, and Zechman.

Jeremy absolutely loves what he has been called to do, and that is to help families maximize their health potential through Chiropractic and through The Wellness Way-Columbia. No other profession gets to intimately work with the innate healing potential the Creator placed in each of us like the Chiropractic profession.

Every day, we get to witness lives changing and health improving by turning on the power of the human body through spinal corrections and removing stressors. When the brain and body can talk without interruption, the Creator's design of continual self-healing can be expressed.

Shelby Maxwell FNTP Wellness Way Practitioner

I'm excited to get to know you and help you create the full and healthy life each of us deserves.

Shelby is a Functional Nutritional Therapist and The Wellness Way-Columbia. Throughout her whole life, she has had an interest in the human body, health, and all things natural. She has a passion for educating others and helping them restore their health and get their life back. It’s a privilege and honor to be part of one's health journey and healing while taking a different approach and offering hope.

She grew up in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1993 and attended York College where she met her husband, Jeremy. She then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic Technology learning chiropractic philosophy, neurologic testing, performing alternative therapies and getting her A.C.R.R.T (Radiologic Tech) and worked in the chiropractic field.

Shortly after graduation, Shelby (and Jeremy) became pregnant with their first of four children. During pregnancy, Shelby became extremely passionate and educated about birth, ultimately, hiring a nurse-midwife and having the wonderful experience of a planned home birth. This was when she was first introduced to herbs and their use as a powerful way to help support the body and through health transitions. All four children were born without the use of drugs at home over the next 8 years. Her passion for birth and breastfeeding inspired her to train as a Douala and attended home births of friends and family.

Shelby was also passionate about raising her children, and homeschooled her four children for 12 years but continued her education and interests along the way. Herbs and homeopathy were always of interest, but she also trained in Reflexology, Nutritional Therapy and ultimately The Wellness Way approach to health.

Outside researching and studying nutrition and health restoration, Shelby enjoys good “foodie” foods, biking, walking, hiking, and travelling, especially to the mountains and ocean.
